Plan on joining the Thrive Half Marathon & 5K race on November 4th? 

Support the Make-A-Wish® San Diego by creating your individual fundraiser and participating in the race at no cost!

  • Sign up for the race by choosing Charity Half Marathon/5K ticket.
  • Commit to raising the $250 fundraising minimum, and the registration fee will be waived.
    • If you do not reach $250 in donations by November 5th, you will be prompted to agree to pay the difference after the race.
  • Join or create your own Make-A-Wish San Diego Fundraising Team (if applicable)!
    • This will ensure your raised funds will go into your team’s basket.
  • Share your fundraiser on social media!

Want to support the Make-A-Wish® vision to grant the wish of every child diagnosed with a critical illness? At Make-A-Wish®, a wish is granted in the US an average of every 34 minutes. We believe a wish experience can be a game-changer. This one belief guides us and inspires us to grant wishes that change the lives of the kids we serve. Make-A-Wish® San Diego grants life-changing wishes for children in San Diego and Imperial Counties.

Annually, the Kaiser Permanente Thrive Half Marathon, 5K and Wish Walk commits a portion of the race proceeds to Make-A-Wish San Diego. Let’s give back to the community by giving back to the kids!

You are invited to set-up a fundraiser for Make-A-Wish® San Diego and join a movement of goal-getters who are raising needed funds to grant wishes for critically ill children and their families.

You can unlock the life-changing power of hope today by signing up for the Thrive Half-Marathon, 5k and Wish Walk and selecting one of the following options to support Make-A-Wish San Diego along with your registration:

Make-A-Wish San Diego Charity Bib ($10)

Run with a special Make-A-Wish bib that shows your support

Make-A-Wish San Diego Charity Breakfast ($50)

Enjoy a post-race breakfast in addition to your Make-A-Wish bib that shows your support.

Be a Star Make-A-Wish Donation ($100)

$100 represents 1% of granting a child’s wish. For every $100 in donations, receive a special star charm to add to your finisher medal to represent 1% of a wish. Also includes access to the charity post-race breakfast* and special Make-A-Wish bib that shows your support.

Make-A-Wish San Diego Fundraiser

Use your run to raise funds for Make-A-Wish® San Diego! We will set up your own private fundraising page where you can invite friends and family to support the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.

Fundraising Benefits Include:

$100: Receive a special star charm to add to your finisher medal to represent 1% of a wish. Also includes access to the charity post-race breakfast* and special Make-A-Wish bib that shows your support.

$1,000: Receive a special Make-A-Wish jacket, along with a star charm for each $100 raised. Also includes access to the charity post-race breakfast* and Make-A-Wish race bib.

$2,500: In addition to the Make-A-Wish jacket, star charm, breakfast, and race bib, receive complimentary two-night lodging accommodations near Mission Bay over race weekend, plus a complimentary race entry to share with a friend!

Charity Disclosure: The Kaiser Permanente Thrive San Diego Half Marathon anticipates a minimum event donation of $10,000 plus participant fundraising to Make-A-Wish San Diego.
