The 2024 Kaiser Permanente Thrive San Diego Half Marathon offers more than $3,000 in prize money for both top overall finishers AND top overall age graded masters athletes.

*prize purse awards must be claimed at the event. Any unclaimed awards will be donated to the official race charity, Make-A-Wish San Diego.

What is age-graded scoring?

Age-Graded scoring uses tables of “age factors” and “age standards” to allow all individuals within a race to be “scored” against each other regardless of age on a level playing field. This means that a 65 year old athlete and a 40 year old both have an equal opportunity of winning or placing. The masters prize purse will be awarded by adjusting finish times using the age-graded tables of World Masters Athletics.
