Where should I park for the Thrive Half Marathon?
This course is a point-to-point course which means that half marathoners will start just south of the new Kaiser Permanente San Diego Medical Center and end at Vacation Isle. You should plan to park at the YMCA Toby Wells at 5105 Overland Ave, San Diego, CA 92123. After the event, shuttles will take you back to your car from 8:00am to 11:00am, included with your race entry payment.

What is the course time limit?
The course will have a 3 hour, 15 minute time limit for the half marathon course and a 90 minute time limit for the 5k.

Can I transfer my bib to another person?
You may transfer your bib to another participant for a $15 transfer fee. Email to complete this transfer.

Can I participate in just the Ribbon Run or do I have to run/walk the 5k/half too?
Half Marathon and 5K Participants may sign up, and are encouraged to, take part in the Ribbon Run to Benefit Make-A-Wish San Diego. The Ribbon Run begins at 10:00am, after the Half Marathon and 5K are finished. With a $25 entry fee/donation, participants may join the Ribbon Run, knowing their contribution is going to a good cause. Individuals may also register solely for the Ribbon Run, in teams, families, or individual registration.

What’s included in my Ribbon Run donation?
Participants in the Ribbon Run will receive a Ribbon Run t-shirt and a participant gymnast ribbon for their entry fee. Individual $25 entries include one free child entry. $50 donations include entry for an entire immediate family. All donations go to Make-A-Wish San Diego.

Is there an age minimum for the 5k run?
7 years old. For younger participants, parents are encouraged to run with their child in the Ribbon Run.

What is the age limit for Thrive Half Marathon?
12 years old. Individuals ages 7-11 are encouraged to run the 5K.

Can parents participate in the Ribbon Run with their child?
Yes, individual $25 donations include one parent and free child’s entry. Donations of $50 or more include entry for an entire immediate family.

Can I run in the 5K with a jogging stroller?
Yes, but strollers are strongly discouraged. For the safety of other runners and walkers, you will be asked to start in the very back of the race and remain with other runners and walkers who also have strollers.

Can I run in the Ribbon Run with a stroller?
Parents may run with a stroller, but just as in the adult race, we ask that you start near the back of the kids pack.

Can my family and friends watch me cross the finish line?
Spectators are able to watch the finish anywhere along Ski Beach. The finish lines will be clearly visible once spectators enter the park.

Will there be a bag check?
We will have a bag check at the half marathon start line. Bags will be bussed to the 5k start/expo at Ski Beach for half marathon runners to pick up after the race.

Is there a beer garden after the race?
In keeping with the Thrive brand, we will not be offering a beer garden after the race. Instead, enjoy healthy snacks and samples from some of our nutritious vendors!

What are the Award divisions?
Awards are presented to the Top 3 finishers overall in both the Half Marathon and 5K in the Awards Ceremony. Age Division Award medals are awarded to the Top 3 finishers in both the Half Marathon and 5K according to each age group. **Age Division Awards are NOT presented in the Awards Ceremony. Age groups are as follows: 14 and Under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+ age groups. Overall winners will be excluded from age group awards. Please pick-up age group awards at the conclusion of the race from 9:00am-11:00am at the expo awards table. **Age group awards will NOT be mailed post event.

Are there any options available for Elite Athletes?
Thrive Half Marathon welcomes elite athletes to our event. Athletes may be provided complimentary entry into the race on a case by case basis. To qualify for an elite entry, athletes should submit proof of recent finishing results via email. The following time standards are used as guidelines: Men 15:30 5K, 33:00 10K; Women 18:00 5K, 37:00 10K.

What are my refund options for this race purchase?
No refunds offered at any time. If cancellations occur, know that your race registration went toward granting a wish through Make-A-Wish San Diego.

How can I volunteer for Thrive?
